Author of this worth publishing project, which is realizing under patronage of Pailula Municipality, is BA in Sociology Jovica Vasic, publicist and longtime newspaper of “Narodne Novine”. Monograph “NIS` PALILULA” is graphically designed by Mile Radicevic within numerous documents and photographs of authors Miroslav Lavrencic, Jovan Surdilovic, Branislav Tikic, Dragan Vidojkovic, Milan Stojanovic, Jovan Ilic, which illustrate decades rapid development.About importance of this publishing project, in the presence of author and publisher, on press conference, held in City Municipality of Palilula spoke Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, President of City Municipality of Palilula.

PERFORMANCE – WHO THERE PAINTING?

 With name “Who there painting?”, father and son, Alexander Blatnik and Ivan Blatnik, organized in April 28th exhibition in city bus of Nis – Express. This project supported and City Municipality of Palilula. Bus – gallery set off on its journey through the city, exact in 8pm, from McDonalds to Faculty of Law, Marger, Trinity Church, Square “Alexander Karadjordjevic”, beside People`s Theatre, Clinical Center. In bus were public persons from a field of culture, art, media, science, friends and admirers of creativity of Alexander Blatnik. On the station at Square of King Alexander Karadjordjevic, across Gymnasium and Clinical Center, to this art caravan joint and interested people from Nis. On the way to Niska Banja, a then back to start station in this gallery space on wheels, was held interesting program conceived by Nis` musicians, aphorist, journalist, actors. “This kind of performances show that city exist in the city.

 Children from kindergarten “CRVENKAPA” with its teacher Javorka Savic, visited President of City Municipality of Palilula, Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic to thank to management of Municipality on support that municipality gave for reconstruction of part of building of this kindergarten on Palilula. “We came today here to sent a message to a city that our municipality cares about us, that children are happy and therefore they understand aware that they are members of society. When we get fir tree to plant, children knows that we got it from Palilula Municipality, if the stairs were repaired, they also know that Municipality did it. We started with action of relocation of bus station, through rehabilitation of sewerage that was from neighboring yard poured into our. Our Municipality has always been up to every our request and children is brought to consciousness – highlighted teacher Javorka Savic.

“PULSATION” FOR EARTH DAY

 Regarding to April 22nd, Earth Day in green space of settlement of Ledena Stena of Palilula Municipality, which is located between elementary schools “Bubanjski heroji” and Special school “Bubanj” was held the children cross named “Pulsation 2011”. In running, on the playground and space of cleaned park, competed about 200 children, preschoolers from the kindergarten “Bajka”, students in low grades of elementary schools located on the territory of Palilula Municipality and members of Children Academy of Sport.In category of preschoolers first place went to Nemanja Milojevic, second to Momcilo Mitrovic, and third to Dorotey Damjanac, all from kindergarten “Bajka”.

MIN`s SETTLEMENT IN PALILULA GOT AND THE BUS LINE

 Since April 20th, bus line of public city transport, Niska Banja – Ledena Stena is extended until Min`s settlement. City buses, after turntable on Ledena Stena, continue the line and transport passengers further on boulevard Dimitrija Tucovica, then through streets Petra Arandjelovic, Dimitrija Leke, Stojan Andrica and Bubanjski heroji.
Otherwise, after 20 years, in MIN`s settlement of City Municipality of Palilula finally is bullied 5 streets where lives about 500 households. After works on the building the roadway, for residents of this part of Ledena Stena provided is and bus line until place where they live.On this occasion representatives of management of City of Nis and City Municipality of Palilula visited this settlement.

SINGE MOTHER IN THE PROGRAM OF SUPPORT OF SOCIALLY VULNERABLE GROUPS

 Palilula Municipality already several months helps socially vulnerable, old and elderly, women and children, disabled and elderly who are immobile and who depends on others people`s help. Thanks to the project “Strengthening of Municipal capacity to improve the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups”, were obtained very good results both in the city and in the settlement of rural area of Palilula.President of City Municipality of Palilula, Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic with associates and mobile team which provides services to socially – vulnerable residents of settlements in Palilula Municipality, visited Snezana Pavlovic, thirty – eight years old single mother, who lives with son Danilo in Gornje Medjurovo. Two older daughters Milena (28 years old) and Milica (20) formed own families and recently gone from the mother.

 Students of final year of Gymnasium “Svetozar Markovic”, from autumn will have opportunity to attend practice in private and public firms and in state institutions to practically comprehend certain profession and could confirm whether this is a business that would like to work in the future. In the order of realization of the project “Professional orientation of young” City Municipality of Palilula and Gymnasium “Svetozar Markovic” signed protocol of cooperation with representatives of Bar Chamber Nis and Administration for Communal Services, Energy and Traffic, Utility Police, Nis` Institute for Health Protection of Workers, Health Institution “Pharmacy Nis”, Nisprojekt and Nis` Dairy. This organizations and institutions were selected on the base of the list of professions for which students of Gymnasium decided.

FURNISHING FOR THE PROJECT

 In order of successful exercise of the project “Strengthening of Municipal capacity to improve the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups” from program Exchange 3, for work purposes of mobile teams and gathering of citizens, in village Gabrovac, adapted the premises of old mill. City Municipality of Palilula provided painting of the space, and necessary inventory – tables and chairs. During visit of the village and conversation with members of Citizen`s Council with management of municipality it is agreed that for needs of this space and quality work of mobile teams of the project on the ground, which includes medical assistance of vulnerable categories of citizens, measuring blood pressure and blood sugar level, providing medical advisory assistance, psycho – social assistance and support, legal assistance, provide and carpeting the floor space. Municipal mobile team of Palilula achieved and this request.

PRESIDENT OF THE MUNICIPALITY NOVAKOVIC VISITED DZUNIC

 President of City Municipality of Palilula, Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, visited today Boban Dzunic, Commissioner of Municipal Committee of Serbian Progressive Party of Palilula in Nis, who since Sunday April 17th is in strike of hunger and thirst as a gesture of support to the president of SNS Tomislav Nikkolic. President Novakovic asked Dzunic that in the purpose of stability of his health and his family, stop with strike, and that his political goals show otherwise. When it comes to elections, Socialist Party of Serbia, where I belong – said Novakovic, can now be called. In a brief interview Novakovic talk to Dzunic about newest information about activities of Palilula Municipality in achieving of program Exchange 3 and project of support to socially vulnerable, old and elderly persons, children, disabilities and elderly people who are immobile and dependent of others people`s help.

Therefore is to the President of this Municipality, Professor Novakovic, honor to welcome this years exhibitors.  Mobile teams of the project of the City Municipality of Palilula - project “Strengthening of Municipal capacity to improve the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups” which is realizing within program Exchange 3, visited Calsav Vucic (born in 1927th) who lives with son Ljubisa (1957) in the settlement Delijski Vis in the street Milentije Popovic. They live from pension which gained Caslav. Son Ljubisa currently doesn’t work, take care of his father whose health is endangered. To this family were handed packages of basic food and toiletries and members of mobile time did the conversation and about possibilities for further social assistance to the family.

NGO REPRESENTATIVES OF NIS IN CLEANING MORAVA

 Among many volunteers from whole Serbia in action of cleaning the South Morava near Vranje, was and group of volunteers, members of NGO gathered around Green Network of city and media EKOpolis Network, representatives of the Council for environment of City of Nis, City Municipality of Palilula. They are led by Boban Mikic, member of the Council of Palilula Municipality worthily represented City of Nis and action spirit that adorns this environment. With volunteers from other cities, members of military and police, people from Nis made efforts to remove accumulated rubbish which is in one part dammed river Morava. SAVE SAD (SOUTHERN) MORAVA

MEMORIAL TO VICTIMS OF THE BOMBING OF NIS 1941ST

 On the Old Nis` cemetery “Gorica”, by tradition, held a memorial service to victims of the bombing of Nis, April 8th, 1941st. Under patronage of City Municipality of Palilula, memorial service organized Association of citizens “Old Nis”, that nursing tradition and take care of the preservation of historical and cultural heritage. With the presence of members of Association, representatives of the City of Nis – Cabinet of the Mayor, clergy of Nis` Diocese, representatives of public institutions and enterprises, Milos Stojkovic, member of the Council of the City Municipality of Palilula, laid a wreath on the memorial to killed people from Nis. Then they evoked memories of the bombing of Nis 70 years ago. The destructive march of fascist Germany, first years of Second World War, population of Serbia was bombed without notice.

ROMA NGOs IN PROMOTING ACHIEVEMENT

 In the hall of Local Office “Djuka Dinic”, Association of citizens of Roma people “Pride” with the presence of numerous guests celebrated International Day of Roma – April 8th. Special program opened “Pride Choir” with the anthem of Roma “Djelem, djelem”, after which the youngsters perform a monologue “Cegar`s beauty”. Then was presented a short documentary film by Meda Bajramovic, “Synonyms of the City”, which reminded on creation and operation of some of the famous citizens of Nis, the Roma population. Presented are Saban Bajramovic, king of Roma music, Sadik Saitovic, well-known choreographer of folk games, Said Balic, who funded first Association of Roma in Nis and done very much for development of Roma population. “I can not say that today for Roma in society is not doing anything, but is not doing enough. I primarily refer to education and employment.

WORKS ON THE WESTERN GATE OF THE OLD CEMETERY

 After completion of the east gate of Old cemetery “Gorica” City Municipality of Palilula continues with activities on reconstruction of the West gate, and on this occasion location on the old cemetery visit Mayor of the Nis Mr. Milos Simonovic and President of the City Municipality of Palilula, Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, with associations.
Reconstruction of West gate has special historical value. Gate which is set on west side of Old cemetery was transferred from the place where once was People`s Bank and now in that space is City Hall. Therefore, it except historical has and exceptional art value – explained President of the Municipality of Palilula, Professor Dr Igor Novakovic. We will gate parts, of wrought iron try to save and restore, and that the parts on which the restoration it is not possible, create a new fence. Concrete poles will be completely destroyed and created new one – said Novakovic. It is expected that this works ends until end of this year.

INTEGRATION OF ROMA NATIONAL MINORITY WITH THE PROGRAM “EXCHANGE 3”

 To meet the World Day of Roma, management of City Municipality of Palilula and multidisciplinary mobile teams, which realizing municipal project “Strengthening of Municipal capacity to improve the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups”, within the program EXCHANGE 3 visited more families of this national minority in settlements of municipality: “Pasi Poljana” and “Crvena Zvezda”.Palilula Municipality very responsible works on integration of Roma in society – said President Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic. We do everything within our jurisdiction, to help in achieving of health care of this population, education of Roma children, solving problems of housing, elimination of prejudice in employment and discrimination on any basis. Here, within this project, financed by European Union, we are much more closer to Roma population and I think that we slowly gaining a mutual trust.Tour of Roma neighborhood on “Crvena Zvezda” left on all the present bitter taste.

PLAYGROUNDS AND ALLEY

 Activities program of arrangement of inter – space greenery and solving the claims of citizens in settlements of City Municipality of Palilula is realizing successfully and in the first quarter this year. About results of greening and planting of alleys in Zetska Street, in the meeting with journalist on the field, spoke Milan Djurdjevic, President of Assembly of City Municipality of Palilula and Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, President of the Municipality.“We provided arrangement of this area and setting of two playgrounds (swing. slide, seesaw ) on the plateau at the junction of Zetska and Trstenicka Street – says Milan Djurdjevic, President of Assembly of Palilula Municipality. In Zetska Street was removed landfill by the roadside and it was formed alley where is planted new 150 trees. Now this space is for example in this part of our Municipality. Greening of this area was realized in cooperation with PUE “Gorica” which is professional and technical equipped enterprise for this kind of jobs.

MAGIC HANDS – SUPPORT TO YOUNG CREATIVE

 In Nis` Cultural Center, under patronage of City Municipality of Palilula was held one day exhibition of applied art, named “Magical Hands”.
This interesting exhibition, that gathered thirty exhibitors – young artist from area of applied art from Nis, Belgrade and Republic of Macedonia, opened Boban Mikic, member of Municipal Council of Palilula.
Goal of this project, according to Mikic, is support to the young artists of applied art, to be recognizable to the wider community.
Otherwise, this setting of exhibition, organized by “Center for Development of Democratic Society” in Nis and Association “Cultus Media” Nis, consisted of jewelry and clothing handmade and unique workmanship as and woven items of Association of women from Svrljig – “Golden thread” and Art School in Nis.

CITY SUPPORTS THE CONTINUATION OF RECONSTRUCTION OF THE OLD CEMETERY

 City Council of the City of Nis, at the session held March, 29th 2011th, made a conclusion and then Mayor of City of Nis made a resolution of acceptance of participation of City of Nis in financing of the project “Reconstruction of the western gate and part of fences of the complex of Old Cemetery”. Holder of the project is City Municipality of Palilula and partner on the project is City of Nis. Value of the project is 13.073.138,68 RSD, and City of Nis finance project in full amount. In the reasoning of the resolution is given: Goal of the project is protection and preservation of cultural property of the complex of the Old Cemetery by reconstruction and restoration of West gate. Complex Old Cemetery is located in Nis on the territory of City Municipality of Palilula, close to the inner urban core.
